Making A Purchase
To make a purchase, click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "View Cart" and PayPal will request a few details (such as postal address) that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept payment by Mastercard, Visa, and Switch. If you are shopping from outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. Your card will be charged at the exchange rate in force at the time the transaction is processed.
Credit card Security and Encryption
All credit card numbers and other confidential information are automatically encrypted by PayPal using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) and the PayPal sercure server is used.
Postage and Packing
Postage and packing charged is dependant upon the size of your purchases.
UK Orders
In the UK, all books will be sent by Royal Mail First class delivery.
European Orders
All European orders are sent by Air Mail
Non-European Orders, including America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
Non European addresses will by default be sent surface mail. But if you request the airmail option, then for an extra charge of £2 per book we will send the items by airmail. Please ensure you enter the correct number of books to be sent by airmail. This can be checked and corrected if necessary at the checkout.

Delivery Schedule
We usually package and post the order within a week, and for UK orders we would normally expect delivery the next working day. For delivery in Europe this will be 3 working days and elsewhere 5 working days. But there is sometimes a delay of a few weeks during holidays (eg August). If you need a book quickly, please email us and we will try to ensure a quicker response.
Returns
We are happy to refund any item that is faulty for any reason, unless this was described in the product information. We must insist that returns are carefully packed, in the original packaging and condition and returned within 14 days of receipt. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any returns that do not conform to these conditions.
Please remember that you are responsible for any returned goods until they reach us. We recommend that you obtain a proof of posting certificate from your Post Office at the time of posting, in case the parcel fails to reach us. This certificate is free. BuyLocalBooks does not pay for the cost of return postage.
